Ahh yes, Cebu City, where the great Lapu Lapu outmaneuvered an eager Portuguese explorer named Ferdinand Magellan (from here on in, we shall call Ferdi), where white sand beach surrounds the archipelago, and where guitars, shell crafts and tourism are it’s major industries.

Cebu’s lovely beaches (for which Ferdi landed on one of them) have driven local tourism to new heights since the local government’s push to support the industry. Beyond the beaches, myriad of sloping mountains as high as 1,000 meters are scattered throughout this tropical terra firma.

And if that doesn’t heighten the tourist in you, there are hundreds of small uninhibited islands for adventure seekers, and diving centers for those who can’t wait to put that awkward and highly disturbing oxygen mask on their mouths.

What’s more, it’s a province mostly known for its ‘2nds’, the 2nd busiest Airport in the Philippines (Mactan International Airport), the 2nd biggest center for trade and commerce in the country, and the 2nd longest and largest bridge (Marcelo Fernan Bridge).

Malls, convention centers, hotels, casinos are in abundance. And it doesn’t hurt that the province has it’s own Free Trade Zone. In able for you to have a satisfying stay here in Cebu, one must be accustomed to what the area has to offer. Below are some links that would initiate any Cebu virgin to explore the sights, sounds, and perhaps smell of this great archipelago which Ferdi discovered centuries ago.
